I just saw this playlist in my YouTube feed and laughed as it is to do with a couple of Hikikomori people and I remember watching it a while back... it does show some of the typical isolation and mental health problems that can happen due to being a shut in and left to your own thoughts... It is a bit strange, the main character is rather paranoid and delusional (outlandish conspiracy theories and some imagining random adult scenes). It also involves "Otaku" in the sense of people obsessed with video game dating simulators, so I'd give it an age 16+ rating for subject matters and an obvious disclaimer that this isn't what every single Hikikomori or socially withdrawn person is like, this is one creators/writers/animators interpretation and etc... Welcome To NHK Playlist <-- Full playlist from YT here If you know any other Hikikomori and/or socially withdrawn and shut-in media representations, make a new thread about it as it'd be cool to see and watch/read different experiences, points of view, stereotypes and things like that of people that aren't seen as the "normal" in general societies.
