Hi everyone, do you have any ideas about what employment options are available for the introverted and anxious people like us? Including things you have done or are doing.
For me, I got a job in antisocial morning hours, cleaning. I am in a small team but we all work alone on our own building floors, so I am only in contact with people if an employee of the building walks in early enough and says a "morning!" to me, and when I am signing in or out and getting my keys. (And buses to and from work, which is alone enough and ok).
This is useful as I am physically outside, in the "real world", earning money/being independent, and it has minimal social contact which helps not to overwhelm.
Ideas for other employment would be things to do online, the only problem is it is hard to find a legitimate job that is"home based" or it pays very little...
I do 'Transcription' online too, it pays very little but at least it is something... it is a "when available" only job you can also chose which files or when to log in and do some as they have many people around the world to do it etc... it's good as it is with zero human contact, you get to hear many different people and subjects while transcribing which is interesting, and it is a skill based job as you need to be able to understand accents or dialects good enough as well as typing quick enough and accurately...
Night shift work would probably be good too, maybe a petrol/gas station, or stacking shelves in a supermarket at night times, no customers and likely little to no human socialising as you are there to work and do specific jobs...
Oh! Etsy/Hobby craft making jobs... those could be good if anybody has a talent for making jewellery or cards or clothing/etc, selling online so only really human contact with the checkout and printing their postage labels and stuff....
Anybody else have any ideas about employment options for people "like us"? It'd be useful to know our options and get some ideas in case we didn't think of one and it sounds easy enough to manage doing and perfect for our current situations and etc.
